Edwin Rivera begin playing piano at 8 years old. More than 20 years later he continues to study, perform, and teach music. He has studied flute with renowned instructor. Nancy Clew, classical piano with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's principle pianist Iliana Fernandez,  and jazz piano with UNF's Artis-In-Residence and Jazz Studies Professor John Ricci, among others. He has performed music with Jacksonville and St Augustine bands Lucid, The Rub, and Fun Sick Phony, just to name a few. Edwin has taught piano and voice since 2009. He focuses heavily on essential music theory and fun musical repertoire, molding each lesson to the student and his or her needs. Edwin's philosophy in teaching music is simply that everyone can learn to play an instrument, but with hard work, passion, and dedication can they become a musician.
