Kimberly James was born in Tennessee where she started taking dance classes at the age of 3. Kimberly began teaching at the studio she grew up in when she was… 17 years old and has continued teaching ever since. She received a Certificate of Commercial Entertainment from Columbia State Community College in Franklin, TN, in 2011. She was in various musicals including CATs and The Wiz where she was a featured dancer and soloist. She continued her dance studies at Middle Tennessee State University where she primarily studied Ballet and Modern. She graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre with focus in Dance in 2013. Kimberly has taken multiple Master Classes from the cast of Wicked, A Chorus Line, Cynthia Gutierrez, Heidi Clemmens, Madia Cooper, and Erin Law. She attended Summer Intensives at Vanderbilt Dance Theatre and was a member of the Middle Tennessee State University Dance Company. She has trained in musical theatre, Martha Graham modern technique, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe and Lyrical. After Kimberly graduated, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and began teaching at Dance Express in Fleming Island in 2013. She loves to share her passion of dance with young dancers! Kimberly is currently a student at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and will graduate in 2022.
